LMC School Reopening Part 3: 7/8/20

School Header

Happy summer LMC Families and Staff,

I hope you all were able to find some time to relax with your loved ones or practice self-care. Today, information was shared about school re-opening, and although final decisions will be made in August we must still plan in preparation for September.

HERE is the chancellor’s letter to families in reference to school reopening plans.  Keep in mind that the safety and welfare of our students and staff will determine any final decisions made in August.

A few highlights from the letter:

  1. Visit and bookmark the Return to School 2020 webpage –  schools.nyc.gov/returntoschool2020 – for more detailed information and ongoing updates.

  2. We will begin school in September (no specific date shared) and it will be either blended learning or parents can select a full remote learning option.

  3. Beginning July 15th- August 7th, families can opt-in for full remote learning in fall. (I will provide you with more details about this option once I am informed.  Know that these are tentative dates.)

  4. The DOE will host a series of online Family & Student Information Sessions to answer any questions or concerns that families may have. The first of these will be held on July 16. More details and a full calendar will be available at schools.nyc.gov/returntoschool2020  and I will also keep you informed.

  5. During the month of July, schools will work on creating the school program. (The DOE survey families completed in June will help us create this program)

Beginning this weekend, I will share updates from our planning in preparation for September.  8th-grade families, I will work on removing you from this list.  You can also be removed by selecting the unsubscribe link at the bottom.

Miss you lots,

Shanna
