This week the weather cooperated beautifully for the 6th grade trip to Teaching Garden at Governors Island. Students had the chance to make prickly pear juice using their own pedal power, sample 5 parts of plants (root, stem, seed, leaf, and fruit), learn about decomposers (worms!) through hands-on experience and got time to explore Governors Island afterwards.
