LMC Students Participating in the Nationwide School Walkout – 3.14.18

This past week the student council organized a walkout to protest gun violence stemming from the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. LMC students participated in a nationwide student lead walkout for seventeen minutes, representing each of the victims. In the weeks leading up to the walkout, students lead town halls for each grade to share their thoughts and opinions as well as accepting any questions asked. During the walkout we felt our voices echoing off the buildings and inside of ourselves. I was proud to see my fellow students being inspired by the teenage survivors of the Parkland mass shooting and taking control of their voice to use it in protest. I am proud to be an LMC student.
